Having a long history of working with the Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado, Drexel, Barrell & Co. was recently contracted to provide surveying and engineering services for designing an expansion of the school’s parking lot. The expanded parking area provided additional student and faculty parking but also had the unique aspect of providing parking for the school’s new Electronic Vehicle School Bus Fleet – the first of its kind in Colorado. The project involved coordination with XCEL energy and other consultants as it related to the new charging stations and transformer required to power the system. In addition to grading, utility and drainage design, Drexel, Barrell also provided fencing/gating design and analysis of the school bus routing/maneuvering.
