Drexel, Barrell & Co. completed civil design, surveying and construction management services for the Mesa Elementary School reconstruction and expansion project in Fountain, CO. The project consisted of an approximate 6,000sf learning garden, building additions, an over 1-acre turf field play area with gravel running track and another approximate 36,000sf of active play areas consisting of active play equipment with fall protection zones, basketball courts, tether ball, 4-square and other play amenities. Drexel designed the detailed grading and drainage for the site to include play area subdrain system, parking lot expansion and drainage collection systems to include adding a surface water quality facility on a severely constrained site.
